After the climatic shot where she grows the flower with her own powers and adds it to the pot, it's time to finally reveal to the audience what's actually been going on. Also, all of my camera angles have been pretty much the same throughout the film, just front on, so I wanted to change things up a little bit here.
I'm really pleased with how this shot has turned out. I think that it's very different to the other shots I've done in the film in terms of angles. I've used simple key framing animation alongside a soft boil to achieve this shot of the soup simmering away in the pot. I added the ripple afterwards to give the leaf garnish some substance and to inject some realism into the shot, but it only took me an afternoon to complete which I was very happy about.
I think I may try and add another shot similar to this one, in order to really make it clear for the audience just in case it still isn't, possibly a quick cut shot to a bowl with some cutlery?
For this shot I wanted it to look like it was a quick jump cut from the soup pot to the bowl. I think that I'll add this to my final film, as sometimes you have to really spell it out for an audience. I want it to be very clear that all of her travelling and gathering in the woods throughout the film has just amounted to one things - a bowl of soup!
