It took me a really long time to come up with a title for my film - nothing seemed to fit well. For the majority of it I would refer to it as 'Selma & Sly' as I named the witch Selma and the Sly seemed a nice fit for the Familiar, plus I thought the alliteration sounded nice.
However, I decided to go with 'Forager' because I think that it sums up film perfectly. I thought about numerous nature inspired names such as 'Sprout' or 'Roots' but 'Forager' definitely works the best.
I'm very pleased with the end result of my film. This version includes the sound design and the theme on the credits, but I'm still waiting on the actual film score from Theo. Regardless, I'm really happy with how it's turned out, even though I want to change and improve on lots of things as I can see many mistakes. It's all part of the learning curve, though.
I feel like it's not quite the film that I originally set out to make. It's definitely similar, but the relationship between the witch and the Familiar had heaps more depth and substance in the film that I originally pitched. I think a lot of that is down to a lack of skill with complex animation, and is definitely something that I need to work on.
Aesthetically, it's the film that I had always imagined. Every shot in every scene could be from a story book or illustration, or could be made into a print. That's the kind of visual quality I was going for in this film and I really think that I've achieved it in that aspect.
I'm also really happy with the length of it, I wanted it to be between 3-4 minutes so I'm very pleased with this end result.
