Final Scene: The Steam

The original animation for the shot of the pot in the second scene of my film took a very long time to due to the fluidity and smoothness of the animation. I thought that it was a very visually striking piece of animation that needed to be recycled in later scenes of my film so I decided to put it to good use in this scene. When the witch adds ingredients to her pot the steam changes colour to signal that something magical has occurred, so I took the original animation and made some colour variations for it.

Purple Steam.

Pink Steam.

Blue Steam.

Green steam.

Although these are obviously very minor changes, they look really good and I think that they'll flow into each other really well. The colours are natural as well as bold and vibrant. I'm going to use really simple key frame animation to achieve these shots by changing the opacity of the various coloured steams.

Purple to pink steam.

Pink to blue steam.

Blue to green steam.

In this shot I also included the addition of the ingredients that she's gathered. I used very simple key frame animation for this as well, using a mixture of position and rotation transformation. I think that it's really simple yet effective.

Green to white to no steam.

In this shot I also included the addition of the final ingredient that she grows herself. Again, I used very simple key frame animation to achieve this.
