Like the pond scene, some other 10x10 work that I did last year has inspired the kind of style of what I want to pursue for this film, in particular, the shape and colour palettes that I use.

This is an image from the first 10x10 film I made last year, and I think that it captures the essence of winter really beautifully through the use of cold colours and sparse detail. I'd make some improvements to the scene though, as this was only created in one day.

This is the improved scene that I've created and I'm incredibly pleased with how it's turned out. I've removed the white border so that it all fits in the screen and I experimented more with my Kyle Brushes in order to find natural effects and textures that I really like. I think that the colours and shadows are better too, I'd perhaps like to animate the shadows moving to signify the passage of time as the sun goes in, in a sort of abstract time lapse. I'd be interested to explore this further and experiment with different colour palettes in order to portray different times of day instead of just the winter season.
