Opening Scene: Pouring Tea

After speaking with Alan I decided to make a major change to the opening scene. Instead of having the witch walk into the shot, pour the tea, then walk out again, I want to do something a little more abstract which removes this all together. I really enjoyed animating the pink steam and so wanted to do something similar to this with a close up shot of the tea being poured. I think that it will showcase my animation skills better than spending hours on a clunky walk cycle that may not look as good.
I'm really really happy with how this shot turned out and I will definitely use it in my film. I think that it's way more striking and effective than any walk cycle that I could try to pull off. It cuts corners but does it in such a way that it's still very obvious to the audience what's going on. I want to repeat this method through out the rest of film, I think that I can really simplify complex shots in this way without confusing the story and I will be able to show off my animation skill with smaller, less extravagant sequences. With this film, the small details are what's important and I think that this particular shot is a great example of this.
