Opening Scene: The Clock

For my opening scene I want to get the colour palettes just right, therefore I did some experimenting with different tones and shades to find the perfect one.

Clock texture

I really like the colours used here, but I'm not sure if I'm going to use the texture that's placed on the clock face, I don't think it looks very nice, I just wanted it to have a slight raise to it. I like the texture that I've used for the over all shot, so I think that I'll just go with that.

Clock 1

I really like the colours used here but as the scene takes place in early morning this may be too bright. I think I'll need something a little darker.

Clock 2

I also like these colours, but I still think that the overall image is too bright.

Clock 3

I like the richness and darkness of these colours, especially as there is a pink and purple tinge to the light in the very early morning. It also shows that there is something different about the inside of this house, not many people use paint this dark on their walls and could be a useful foreshadowing for the witch. f

Here is the first shot of my opening scene. I want to have a ticking clock noise behind it which I think will be perfect for the relaxed morning mood that I'm trying to convey. There is something very comforting about the rhythm of a ticking clock. It will also be useful to show what time of day it is, I'd like it to be a running theme throughout my film.
