Scene 3: The Familiar

This is the shot where it's revealed to the audience that the Familiar is a supernatural being and not just a pet cat. I wanted it to change into something that would be comfortable in the forest so I decided to go with a fox while still adhering to the colour scheme. These 3 shots only differ in colour changes as it wasn't until after I had made them that I decided to change the colour of the sky to make it a more Autumnal setting.

This is the first version of the shot which showcases the very blue sky of spring.

This is the second version of the shot where I've changed the sky and ground colour in order for it to look more Autumnal.

This is the final version of the shot which matches the final version of the previous shot of them both walking together. I think that the colour change was a good call and a massive improvement from the deep blue that I previously chose. In regards to the way this shot has turned out, I'm very happy with it. It took a long time to create due to all the different components and the complexity of layers, but I think that I've pulled it off quite nicely. I think that it flows well and the transformation is fluid. It's a very effective way to reveal to the audience the true magical nature of the Familiar.
