Scene 3: The House

This is the opening shot of the 3rd scene, where her interior surroundings are properly contextualised by this exterior shot of her house. This shows her placement within this world.

This is the first version of the shot of the house. I'm so pleased with how it's turned out. It took my a very long time but I think it was definitely worth it. I really like the colours I've used, it definitely gives the impression that she lives in very lush surroundings. The rays of light work really well too, it makes her look as though she lives deep in the forest- away from civilisation, completely at one with nature. There are, however, a couple of things that I'd like to change. I think that the dust is too much and a bit too fast. I also think that I need to add something into the foreground of the shot to balance it out - possibly some vegetation.

This is the second version of the house shot. I added a couple of improvements such as toning down the dusty bits and adding some reeds into the foreground so as to balance the shot out. I also think it helps to draw the eye to the middle of the screen, which is the most important part as that's where the house is. I also think that the walk cycles work pretty well within this shot. They're very far away in the shot though so it's quite hard to tell but I'm optimistic that they will work well in the other shots too where they are easier to make out. I do like the fact that the witch and the Familiar are so small in this shot - it makes the forest look so much more magical and different from a 'normal' forest.
