Scene 3: Walking Through Trees

This is the shot where the walk cycle of the witch and the Familiar were needed the most. This shot is the one before the Familiar reveals his shape-shifting powers and so it's quite an important one.
This is the first version of this shot. I think that the walk cycles of them both work pretty well here. They're much clearer than the one where they're walking outside the house and they're not actually as bad as I thought they would look now that they're on top an attractive background. I decided to use the Spring colour palette for this scene as it looks so beautiful, but I've realised that my film has more of an Autumnal theme so for the next one I'm going to try and tone down the colours.
This is the second version of this shot. I think that the change of colour has definitely helped to improve it. It does look more Autumnal than the last version, but I still don't think it's enough. I may change the colour of the sky to something that looks a little more stark. The lightened blue is nice and gives the impression of a crisp Autumn day but I'm not sure it's quite there yet. I also changed their positions so that the witch followed the Familiar, but I don't think it works that well.
This is the final version of the shot. I'm really pleased that I decided to change the colour of the sky. I settled on a 'wheaty' sort of colour instead of blue, I think that it gives the shot the starkness of Autumn that it needs while still showcasing the beautiful Autumn colours in the trees. I also decided to place the Familiar behind the witch again - it seemed more appropriate.
