This scene will consist of the witch and her Familiar travelling home with their ingredients. The sun is setting and when they arrive home it will be night time. I haven't made a storyboard or animatic for this scene as I've recycled previous shots and changed the colours and added minor details. It's one of the quickest scenes in the whole film, but in its conciseness it signals the passage of time quickly and effectively in a visually striking way.
I also want to use this scene as a way to introduce the Familiar as a deer. It will again remind the audience of the Familiar's magical powers as well as show case the walk cycle that I did for one of my first animation test. I'm proud with how it turned out, so it would be unfortunate to waste it.

I used this particular shot to signal that they're travelling back the same way as they came. I'm very pleased with the colours that I've used. I think that they're very complimentary, bold, and visually compelling. It definitely gives the illusion that the sun it setting. As for the animation, I'll once again recycle the witch's walk cycle and use the deer walk cycle for their journey back home. I think I may experiment with animating the shadows to moving with them as well.
I'm really pleased with this shot. I think that the deer animation works really well. I didn't realise but it's actually a little bit transparent. I quite like it though, it gives the Familiar an a very pleasant and ethereal presence. Also, by animating the shadows going the opposite to the original scene, it could make the audience think that the witch has so much power that can control time as well as the nature.
