Soup Animatic

I digitised the images from this storyboard in order to create a clearer animatic just like the scans from the kettle and Familiar storyboards.

I like the way that this animatic turned out and I think that the animation in it has a lot of potential. The abstract bubbling smoke and the flickering fire will look really nice and I'm excited to try and emulate these things.

However, creating this animatic was a bit of a double edged sword as it made me realise that I don't want to include it in the film at all, however, I also now know what storyline I want my film to follow. For a long time I wasn't sure about what the narrative was going to be and I played around with a lot of ideas such as subliminal messages on caring for the environment and the animals around us. Instead of this, I really want to strip back these sorts of ideas for the film and instead I want the film to be about making soup.

I think that I will keep some key shots from this animatic within my final film but I really need to have a big rethink of the storyline and create some new storyboards and animatics now that I know what I want the narrative to be.
